Designed to be used for: Calculating and illustrating contributions to tax-sheltered annuity arrangements and mutual fund custodial accounts under the special rules of Code Sections 403(b) and 415(c) that are applicable to employees of public schools and organizations exempt from tax under Code Section 501(c)(3).
Key features: The TSA Calculator automatically calculates the general exclusion allowance under Code Section 403(b), the employer's limitation on contributions, the three alternate limitations, and the overall limits on elective deferrals. A summary page and the six Worksheets based on the recently revised Publication 571 are automatically completed. The summary page displays the taxable and non-taxable portions under each of the options available to the employee. The program does all the math, computes includible compensation, and calculates the various limitations; it is fully functional, prints, and can save client files.
The MEA Analyzer is a single-screen tool that can be used to quickly solve for the maximum remaining elective contribution under the general TSA rules and the "A", "B", and "C" alternate election limitations.
Employer contributions to the TSA or other defined contribution plans may be considered. Calendar year compensation can be entered if different than compensation earned during the most recent period of service that may be counted as one year. IRS or user-defined actuarial and annuity value tables may be used.
