I've installed the 2005 5500 software we received from Relius but when I get into Government Forms, there is not an option in the right hand corner of the first box for 2005. I believe I would need to carry forward the information from 2004, but there is no indication if I can do this with 2004 to 2005 information. I don't want to lose any information which is why I'm being extremely cautious (plus this is my first go-around with anything 5500 related).

It sounds like your install did not work. We have also installed the 2006 version of Relius 5500. Did you do a network install or a standalone? If a network, did you also do a workstation intall? When you open the program, you will now see a greenish/yellowish box instead of the white box with the old version. It should also indicate that you have Version 2006. You can check this by going to the Help/About Relius on the main menu bar.

When you open the program the first time after the install, it will tell you that you do not have any 2005 plans and ask you if you want to carry them forward from 2004. At this point I say 'No' because it is going to carry-forward all of your plans. I then do a manual carry-forward for only the plans I want.

We did have one problem with the install and that was not being able to get the IRS instructions. It would give us an 'Action Cancelled' error. We use the network version and I uninstalled the 2006 workstation and 2005 workstation using the Add/Remove Programs option under Control Panel. I then reran the workstation install and now everything works fine.
