How long are plans typically taking to provide estimates of withdrawal liability?
I could probably get some data and apply the plan's allocation methodology and arrive at a ballpark number, but does anyone know if it's possible to get an informal, off the record range from the plan (by phone), before a formal estimate is provided? |

I have never seen a plan offer an estimate over the phone and would ot expect to. It generally doesn,t take too long (up to two weeks) to get an estimate provided that actuaries have completed their work. For some smaller plans it might take a bit longer. |

Thanks. I was told that it was typically taking several months for employers to receive an estimate, but that may have been plan-specific.
