Company is transferring its 401(k) plan to a newly formed holding company, with no changes to plan. The plan and SPD will be amended for name change. Any other considerations administrative or otherwise?

1. 5500 form will have to recognize change of Plan Sponsor.
2. The former sponsoring employer, which I assume is still around and employees most if not all employees, will now have to adopt the plan as a member of the controlled group.
3. Any other companies under the holding company umbrella will have to be looked at for coverage. If it is a standardized document, all controlled group members must adopt.
I'm sure there are more, I'll let others add on.

Don't forget to include the trustee in documenting the change.
