jusducki
Pensions in Paradise
Nameless Coward-s/b anonymous coward
wink.gif
Appleby
I vote "Nameless coward" biggrin.gif
jevd
I third the nommination for nameless coward as I am one also with just initials
AndyH
oops. It's actually "anonymous coward". Even better.

And, Blinky, yes you may make the top 10, but I don't know about the top 5.
WDIK
My personal favorites:

1) Anonymouse Coward
2) QDROphile (Is that politically correct?)
3) 2muchstress
4) 401 Chaos
5) Death and Taxes (That's certain.)
TBob
I think in the spirit of the countless awards shows (Grammy's, Oscar's, Golden Globes, et al ...When will they have an awards show for the best awards show?) this post must be categorized to properly give credit where credit is due.

My personal nominations...

Most Ironic - Pensions In Paradise
Most Obscure - Blinky...(this one's a lock!)
Most Accurate - thisissocomplicated
Best Accronym - WDIK
Best Reference to Fictional Character - Belgarath (most probably never read it!)
Best Depiction of the Pension Industry - 2muchstress
Worst Depiction of the Pension Industry - Happy Actuary
Best Special Effects - Tie (Blinky, Doombuggy, ERISAatty)
A word from our sponsor - DietPepsi

The Lifetime Achievement Award - Dave Baker

Special mention goes out to all those that had the confidence to use their real names (although somewhat boring!).

Also a great personal thanks to everyone that has ever posted to these message boards.
Mike Preston
Without categorization, without doubt, Blinky the 3-eyed Fish.
Kirk Maldonado
Thanks to everybody who participated in this thread for brightening my day.
Fredman
If Blinky is nominated, then Disco Stu needs mention as well. I looked for Ralph Wiggums and Principal Skinner, but those haven't been registered yet.
TBob
...and what ever happened to Dredorick Tatum?
Katherine
Is someone going to make sure that there is a five-minute delay on postings here?
Appleby
How about Derelict?
AndyH
Katherine, what is your concern? There are enough moderators on this thread to start an electrical storm with their zapping power.
Katherine
Just joking, AndyH.... I thought that five minute dealys were the new standard for awards show (e.g., Grammys, etc.) ...
AndyH
My bad. I thought I missed something good!
Mike Preston
You did. It's gone now. :-)
AndyH
I just hope that Tom didn't find and post a naked picture of Blinky. He's been awfully quiet since Tom found that link to him under stupid.com!
rcline46
I vote for Blinky, cuz he gots the bestest thumbnail!
Katherine
I think that Tom Poje pulled the cover off Blinky and revealed that he actually looks like this: http://www.stupid.com/Merchant2/graphics/p...inky_beauty.gif
Tom Poje
well, I guess in Blinky's case that sort of....
'winds up the voting' on this issue.
DFerrare
Hold on. A new contender: VEBA Las Vegas.
Appleby
...and 'FormsRmylife'
Twitch
Don't forget about Max Power! He's a pal of Blinky's. The real, celluloid Blinky, that is!
AndyH
Somehow I forgot to nominate Partly Cloudy.

p.s., Twitch, we need a picture of Max Power.
Tom Poje
if you are going to nominate all those, then I will nominate (and now I don't remember her name) but she signed her real name, but since someone else was already using it, she added her state's initial MD.
and so we all thought she was doctor and wondered why she was even dabbling in pensions..
Then, as if that wasn't enough, she moved to another state and now the initials are PA
AndyH
yeah, I remember doing a double take on that several times also. She was probably interested in affiliated service groups and cliff vesting.
Twitch
Andy, "Max Power" was the name Homer took (inspired by the family's blow dryer) in one episode.

Never noticed this name before, so it should get honorable mention, at least:

§#$%!

Certainly reflects how I feel frequently.

Doesn't hurt that the location is local to me, too. Probably know the person. Whoever it might be.
§#$%!
Mike,

We've met before and talked a couple of times at Sal's conference, including the seminar you held last year.

I read BenefitsLink since it started but never registered until last year on 04/01.

Tony
maverick
Tom, wasn't it "Kate Smith MD"? When I first saw it, I thought of the singer.
Tom Poje
That's it. Thanks. The 'doctor' part still cracks me up.
pax
Perhaps "Maryland"?
RCK
I'm having a hard time with all this support for Blinky, the 3-eyed Fish.

My reluctance can be tracked back to the day I had to explain to our ERISA counsel that my support for my position (on some obscure topic) came from Blinky the 3-eyed Fish.

RCK
Mike Preston
Your ERISA counsel needs to go see Spiderman.
AndyH
I noticed that there is a "Lawyer in Black" user registered who could have been a "dark horse" candidate, but thankfully he seems to have gone away without ever scaring us er' posting.
jevd
New Nomination: "ROSEBUD" whispered softly from Xanadu.

QUOTE (Tom Poje @ Feb 19 2004, 04:22 PM)
That's it. Thanks. The 'doctor' part still cracks me up.

Me too
Appleby
OK. That’s it. No more fun posts. You hear me? No more!!! This board is addictive enough already. You are not helping my twelve-step program to wean myself from it.

Hi – My name is Appleby, and I am a Benefitslinkmessageboradaholic ph34r.gif

I will lower my standards, I will and beg, grovel and employ other means that I find abhorring just to get access to a computer so that I can visit http://benefitslink.com/boards/index.php

I post at all hours of the day. I visit the board when I am at home, when I am at work, when I am on vacation with my family. If I awake for any reason in the wee hours of the morning, I visit the board, I visit the board, and I visit the board…
Appleby
Oh. And I am getting a bumper sticker that says "I Love http://benefitslink.com/boards/index.php " laugh.gif
Kirk Maldonado
Appleby:

If you were really dedicated, you would get a tatoo that says that. On your forehead.
TBob
Appleby...Would it help if we created another forum on the message board for addicts like yourself to talk (post) about your problems? We all need support some times!
Appleby
Kirk- I like your suggestion. I made an appointment with my tattoist (or is it tattoo person)

Hey TBob, Wouldn’t that be like a person talking about their drinking problem in a bar? “Hey Barkeep, I’ll have what he is having!”
CitationSquirrel
Appleby:

I have this "friend" who has the same problem as you.

I think the problem is that we all work in this field. Have you ever had someone ask you what you do for a living? That is not an easy question to answer without causing the other person to lapse into a coma. blink.gif While my wife can finally give a very basic description of my job to her friends (it has taken her several years), she still makes the mistake of asking me if anything interesting happened at work. I've discovered that "interesting" is a very subjective word.

btw, you're all forgiven for not nominating me.
JanetM
Is CitationSquirrel the same as CodeNut?
AndyH
CS, yes you are deserving of nomination, but you must understand that 9 posts over 2 years in the ESOP section isn't exactly center stage.
CitationSquirrel
Janet: No, but I can tell you whether the periods in I.R.C. are supposed to be italicized or not.

Andy: Well you can't say that I've been monopolizing the spot light.
anonymous coward
Thanks, I guess. cool.gif

My vote would have to go Blinky, just for the lovely avatar biggrin.gif
Tom Poje
I think Blinky looks better with that deep orange tan on some of the other pictures!
AndyH
Anybody else notice that Blinky hasn't shown his fins in this thread? Conspiracy theories abound.
