I think the problem is that we all work in this field. Have you ever had someone ask you what you do for a living? That is not an easy question to answer without causing the other person to lapse into a coma. While my wife can finally give a very basic description of my job to her friends (it has taken her several years), she still makes the mistake of asking me if anything interesting happened at work. I've discovered that "interesting" is a very subjective word.
