Does anyone have any relatively recent disability tables they could share? I’m looking for incidence, not disabled mortality. I have the old UAW tables and a table from 1985, but I was wondering if anyone has anything more current. We looked on the SOA site and didn't really find anthing.

We are looking mostly at blue collar groups (1,000 lives) and as we update mortality to one of the RP2000 tables, using a 1955 disability table doesn't seem reasonable.

I am attaching two documents from the Social Security Administration's 2005 statistical report.

They show by 10 year age bands the recent SSA experience over the past 10 years.

For example, in 2002, there were 10,361,000 males in their 40's insured for disability.

In 2002, 406,336 men were awarded disability benefits, and 10.3% of those were age
40 to 44, while 12.7% of those were age 45 to 49.
So (10.3 + 12.7=23.0)/100 x 406,336 = 93,457 approximate number awarded benefits
in year 2002 out of 10,361,000 = 0.902% rate.

If you work at this, you may be able to put these into a spreadsheet and make the
remaining calculations. Good luck.
