Excerpt: Mayor Jerry Sanders took his pension plan for city workers on the road yesterday, seeking understanding and support from Scripps Ranch voters at a town-hall meeting. The plan, designed to save the city money in the future, would cut retirement benefits for non-public-safety employees hired on or after July 1, 2009.
