Guest Hillary P Posted August 9, 1999 Share Posted August 9, 1999 It is irrelevant for purposes of HIPAA whether an employee's termination is voluntary or not (i.e., resignation vs. firing); if an employer is subject to the statute, it generally must comply with the HIPAA requirements in either case.
