Effen
So where is all that happy Yankee / Red Sox banter now? $331,811,942 and what did it get? Maybe if they would have put a few more million in they could have won something. Personally - I love it. The only problem is now I don't have anyone to route against. Red Sox, Yankees, Braves all lost. hmmm, LETS GO PENS! Belgarath
Actually, there's a curious sense of relief in a way. We're sad that the BoSox lost, but as long as the Yankees are out of it, then it isn't so bad. And at least I can get some sleep this October - after last year, where I don't think I caught up until after Christmas, that's a relief too! Tom Poje
shhhhhh. The Yankee owner is thinking about buying the Dominican Republic, that will give him a lock on all those players.
AndyH
I second Belgarath's comments, in particular the one about sleep - I forgot about that; that was brutal. I'm enjoying telling clients that their investment returns stink because of the Yankees. Passing along those salaries to corporate ticket buyers and tv advertisers drains corporate profits so stocks depreciate. And others follow suit. It's that simple. Underfunded plan? Clearly the Yankees are to blame, A-Rod in particular. Blame all underfunded plans on A-Rod.
