PFranckowiak
Investment advisor is telling a client that he can do a direct transfer of his 401k RMD to charity as a qualified charitable distribution. I thought it was only for IRA's. I could not find anything allowing from 401k plans. Did something change for 2018? If so where can I find the regulations allowing it? QDROphile
The investment adviser should provide the authority, not you.
PensionPro
This is for IRAs not qualified plans. He can rollover to an IRA and take his RMDs as charitable distributions in the future. PensionPro, CPC, TGPC
CuseFan
but cannot rollover the portion that would be an RMD from the plan for the current year. Kenneth M.
