A while ago, I was managing client reports and benefit plan files for a small HR consultancy — we were completely paperless too. On most days I had 8–10 PDFs open across two monitors, and I couldn’t believe how difficult some tools made something as basic as opening documents in separate windows. I accidentally edited the wrong version of a file more than once just because two identical tabs were open. That was the moment I realized that the price of software isn’t the real issue — losing clarity and time is what really costs you. After trying Adobe, Foxit, Nitro and even Kofax, I started thinking that maybe we just need tools designed exactly for how we work, not the other way around.
