Correct, if it was an ongoing plan we would just shake our heads and make a note to add those people next year but for a terminating plan there is a hard deadline. I had not considered the extension since the 5500 was already filed but that may be our best option.

We have a terminating plan whose final forms need to be filed by January 31, 2026. We completed them in Relius Web Client several months ago but the client failed to sign the forms until after January 1st. We had to redo the forms on the Form Year 2025 forms to send them through Web Client. The issue now is that the plan needs an 8955-SSA which is not yet available. We do have everything set up so that if needed we could submit directly through the FIRE system but i am having no luck coming up with a template for manual submission. Does anybody have any resources for a format or am I missing a way to create it in Relius (Admin or Web Client)

About a month ago our building was struck by lightning and we lost most of our computers. I had a very old machine still set up just to run Relius Proposal. Naturally that old lady is one that got killed. I really preferred the simplicity of set up for new plan proposals. I am aware it is no longer updated or supported but the tables were manually updated so it still worked for a limited purpose. I am just wondering if anybody has had any luck getting it to run on a newer machine. Or is it time to start hitting up yard sales for old parts?

Currently doing the follow up after surviving the 15th and just found a typo in a participant name on an 8955-SSA. Her social is correct. We have found no guidance and can't come to a consensus in the office on whether this needs an amended form or we just leave it till she is filed as a D on next year's forms. opinions?

It does and she completed a beneficiary form when the plan was initially set up. Since it is just the two of them that is why they are wondering what happens under the plan rules if they both pass before the plan assets have been exhausted.

We have a single life DB plan that is at the 415 limit and is over-funded by roughly $500,000. She is nearing retirement (in a year or maybe 2) and is trying to sort out her estate planning. The plan is currently set up with her husband as the beneficiary of her plan. We are trying to determine what happens if they both pass before the assets in the plan have all been paid out. Also in question is if lump sum is taken how are surplus assets taxed? Plan provision pays only plan participants. Would this be a deemed “employer reversion” subject to 20% to 50% excise tax?
