Guest AliciaD Posted July 11, 2001 Posted July 11, 2001 We are considering web enrollment for FSA's and benefits enrollment. What are the main legal compliance issues involved?
david rigby Posted July 12, 2001 Posted July 12, 2001 I cannot address legal issues. Best to contact an ERISA attorney for that. However, there might already be some information on this website. First idea is to look at all Q&A's in this particular message board. Another source of information might be to search the entire website. For example, http://www.benefitslink.com/links/20000321...21-004773.shtml Might be some vendors to talk to also, such as http://www.btabta.com. (I have no experience with this vendor.) In general, software vendors might be able to provide some info: http://www.benefitslink.com/software.shtml I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Joe Priselac Posted July 12, 2001 Posted July 12, 2001 There is no requirement in Section 125 that the enrollment process must be done in a paper format. Many companies use internet or telephonic systems to enroll their flex plans. Theonly problem we have encountered is with certain insurance companies inability to accept electronic enrollment.
