Guest helenw Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 We are a TPA of cafeteria plans and are looking to purchase new administration software. I was hoping to get some responses on what software some of you are using and how you like it. We are mainly looking at Bemas, DataPath125, Datair FlexPlus/Cafeteria Admin and Fast-Flex Plus. Please let me know any good or bad. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Guest MSMA Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 We have used PW Software (Powerplus) for several years (8-10?)and they have been great! The few times I have had to call them for customer support they have been exceedingly friendly and solved the problem with no muss or fuss. I used the DOS program for a couple of years and it was EXTREMELY user friendly. I no longer administer the FSA program here, but since we upgraded the software, I have not heard any complaints from my replacement either. Here is their address: 5655 Lindero Canyon Road Suite 403 Westlake Village, CA 91362 phone: 818-707-7690 fax: 818-707-9097 Web: www.pwsoftware.com email: pwsoft@pwsoftware.com Hope this helps!
Guest April Posted December 14, 2001 Posted December 14, 2001 I have been administering one FSA Plan for the past 4 years. We use the Fast Flex Pro, which I beleive the Fast Flex Plus may be the upgrade. It suits my purposes for one group, however, there are a few gliches in the system and feel as if I am forever double checking the data. If you are going to be administering several FSA plans, I would look into other alternatives.
SLuskin Posted December 26, 2001 Posted December 26, 2001 We have been administering Cafeteria Plans since 1990. About 1 1/2 years ago, we switched to DataPath. I am very happy with the program, and even happier with the customer support. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and very nice as well. Our clients liked the switch too.
Guest Dick Boever Posted December 30, 2001 Posted December 30, 2001 I would agree with SLuskin regarding DataPath for the most part. Good program and good support, people are knowledgeable and helpful. There are several things to consider, however. Do you have any intention of doing administration on Transportation plans, using the MBI Flex Credit card or getting into billing or COBRA administration? If the answer to any of those questions are yes, you need to look at TRAVIS Software as well. TRAVIS Flex will allow slightly more options within the core program, that are options with DataPath. TRAVIS has already built the Flex card link and has a very good COBRA program. They also have a web company partner to help you get on the internet. If you run the software on a network, test the program first. Part of the problem with DataPath may be my wireless network, but the program slows down significantly on my network. In fairness I never ran TRAVIS on the network with the amount of data I have on DataPath. Having done research on this issue a little over a year ago for a company, I would limit my research to DataPath and TRAVIS, best programs for the money. PW is a great program, at five times the cost. Lastly, I would recommend sitting down with a user as they process claims, issue checks etc. I find the DataPath interface slightly more intuitive, while the Travis program is more flexible. You won't go wrong with either of these programs.
