Guest Darla K Posted February 5, 2002 Posted February 5, 2002 I was wondering if someone turned in a receipt for a massage for chiropractic treatment that was perscribed by the Doctor is it eligible for reimbursement in his flexible spending account.
mroberts Posted February 5, 2002 Posted February 5, 2002 Since it was prescribed by a doctor and it could fall under therapy or chiropractic care, based on the information provided, it would be covered.
Guest rachd Posted February 5, 2002 Posted February 5, 2002 We will only reimburse massage therapy if they have a doctor's note/prescription stating it is for a SPECIFIC medical condition. Email me (rachel@cdscpa.com) if you would like any further clarification. ~Rachel
SLuskin Posted February 5, 2002 Posted February 5, 2002 My son is a licensed massage therapist who works on people with repetitive stress injuries. We have been accepting receipts from the therapists as long as they include the nature of the injury, i.e. back pain, shoulder pain, chronic headaches. One thing the IRS does not allow (unfortunately, because it is great for this) is massage therapy for stress reduction.
