Guest Kjack Posted March 6, 2002 Posted March 6, 2002 Does an insurance carrier need to provide a Schedule A to a plan that exempt from filing a Form 5500?
Guest Dick Boever Posted March 12, 2002 Posted March 12, 2002 Most insurance carriers avoid the issue of whether an entity is required to file a Form 5500 and provide the Schedule A info annually. The insurance carrier may not have sufficient information to make a determination as to whether an employer is required to file a Form 5500. I have seen a number of employers think they were exempt, when in reality a Form 5500 was due. It is a big mistake to take the advise of most insurance brokers on this matter.
