Guest MarcieMcA Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 If an employer who has a Section 125 switches health insurance carriers mid-year , are there any problems with adjusting the employee's contributions up or down in the plan?
Sandra Pearce Posted July 16, 2002 Posted July 16, 2002 I believe this falls under the allowed automatic cost changes found in the permitted election changes of the final regulations issued in March 2001.
Guest MarcieMcA Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 Sandra, thanks for the information. That is what I assumed but I had someone questioning that because they had heard you can't do that if you get a new carrier (as opposed to the current carrier changing their rates).
mroberts Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 When you say contributions, are you talking about premium contributions to the plan or contributions to the FSA?
Guest MarcieMcA Posted July 17, 2002 Posted July 17, 2002 I am referring to the employee's premium contributions.
