Guest pauljose Posted July 22, 2002 Posted July 22, 2002 Does anyone know of a resource that lists the pre-tax eligibility(125 plan) of Worker's Comp. premiums by state? Thanks, Paul
KIP KRAUS Posted July 23, 2002 Posted July 23, 2002 Workers’ Comp. premiums are paid by the employer. So I don’t understand the question about them being pre-taxed. They are usually a business expense to the employer.
Guest pauljose Posted July 23, 2002 Posted July 23, 2002 Here in California, when a company implements a 125 plan, they are able to use the reduced gross salary (post 125 deductions) as the basis of their premium cost. I am interested to know whether this is so in the rest of the US as well.
Guest MarcieMcA Posted July 23, 2002 Posted July 23, 2002 That is true in Ohio as well. I'm not sure if that is the case in every state. Sorry, I don't have any websites to offer.
GBurns Posted July 24, 2002 Posted July 24, 2002 The National Council on Compensation Insurance, Inc (NCCI) has a rule book that is divided by states. I do not know their website but any WC sales rep should be able to give you the info you need.[Editor's note: This link to a commercial firm might have useful information: http://www.hrollp.com/practice-areas/labor-employment/workers-compensation/list-50-states-d-c-s-workers-compensation-agencies/ ] George D.
