Guest KevinP Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 Does anyone know of a website or phone number we can call to see if a client has filed the form 5500 on time, or at all. Thanks, Kevin
kocak Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 5500 info for prior years can be found on freeerisa.com. I don't know about current filings... mck
E as in ERISA Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 You can get copies of 5500s from the Public Disclosure Room. For info see http://www.dol.gov/pwba/publications/how_t...btain_docs.html. It's not as fast as freeerisa.com but its more comprehensive.
Guest KevinP Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 I realize that I may get prior years 5500, but is there any way to check to see if a client filed the 2001 5500. Freeerisa states they may take the year after filing to review and update the information prior to posting the 5500 on their website. Any other ideas on how to find out if a client submitted their 2001 5500 form? No the client does not remember if he submitted the form we sent him. He recalls receiving our package, but does not remember sending it on to Kansas.
2muchstress Posted September 17, 2002 Posted September 17, 2002 I don't have a solution, but I have the same problems. I'm just posting so I can be notified of any other suggestions.
Earl Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 Form 4506; Request for Copy or Transcript of Tax Form I did it once, worked; but took a while (cost $23) CBW
Guest KevinP Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 My colleague gave me a number where you can call and receive information on up to three filings. You will need the employer's EIN to obtain the information, but it can be done over the phone. The number is (866) 463-3278. I hope this helps!
E as in ERISA Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 That is the general phone number for EFAST processing. If you ever lose that number, try and remember that it can found by looking up EFAST on the PWBA's section of the DOL web site or going to http://www.efast.dol.gov/contact.htm .
