hopefully I knocked off a few of the problems.

(though I have hardcoded the limits)

Good luck, as always if you dare to use one of my reports verify the data! I offer no guarantees, only humble attempts at producing some extra useful reports

This report will list def / match/forf/profit sharing, and some % data

It will tell you if someone is at the limit

It will give you 25% deductibility - you have to include zero activity accounts for those that don't defer and have no balance.

Therefore it is designed for 401ks not for profit sharing plans.

If you use census user field number 1 it will even produce grouping totals.

It will indicate the ees status and # of hours

dang, I think it will butter your toast and walk the dog as well.

Thanks Tom, that saved me many remaining gray hairs.

Just to add to the mix:

If one wanted for example to have limits that changed automajically ('dynamic') on a report, I'm guessing (based on support Qs previous) that the steps to do this in V 8.0 would look something like this:

1. Find the spec report that contains the specifications and/or limits that you might want to use.

2. Find the subreport within that spec file that references the particular limitation, and determine how it is linked.

3. Hook a similar subreport up in the report that you want the specs installed into. Create the subreport link the same way, and place it in the same Grouping (for example, the header) as the referenced spec file.

4. Re-calculate the subreport if any changes occur (a Crystal thing) that probably isn't necessary since the subreport is embedded in the report.

Certain of the tables that contain limitations and etc. are not constructed to show at the participant level. Some are, some aren't.

The new 415 report I noticed had some capability to reference limits dynamically (from a table as opposed to hard coding it.)

And definitely verify and test, keep the report nearby as an internal use only report for a time, etc etc.

An update ago or so I actually pulled the limits (e.g. 30,000) and it worked fine. Then something changed with an update and I couldn't get it to work - I ended up pulling zeroes instead of the limits, and I didn't have the time to fool with it or investigate it further. It might be working once again for all I know.

Heck, I keep changing this fool report to suit my needs. A lot of the stuff like status and hours I just added. Mainly cuz I eliminated the soc sec number and it gave me more room.

I have a similar one with a safe harbor column (but that is also hardcoded to be acct number = 800.)

You could modify to test the 25% limit for a ps only plan by simply putting in a 'select' for people who receive a contribution. real easy.

Thanks for the comments, too late for me, my hair is already beginning to gray.

Tom, i've been trying to find a Relius report that breaks down the Employee Deferral, Employer Match and the Profit Sharing contributions by participant. I found this message thread, but couldn't find the report that seemed to be attached to one of your messages. Do you have a report that breaks down the contributions by participant. Thanks.

see if this works.

this was originally written for cross tested, so ees are grouped by numeric user field #1 in census.

ever since 8 or 8.2 I have found I have to type in a 0 on the 'common' people, even though 0 is in the field already
