Guest Ingrid Fils Posted October 10, 1998 Posted October 10, 1998 Has anyone had experience with converting a year end transaction file from Equitable/Momentum Services, so that it imports electronically to Quantech? I would apreciate any direction, advice, import routines, or other resources to guide me. Thank you.
Guest JohnB10 Posted October 12, 1998 Posted October 12, 1998 Based on the Quantech Financial Institution Interface menu, it doesn't look like there is a built in interface specifically for Momentum plans. So, your best option is to use a Transaction Import Routine (TIR). There are two types: Allocations Import and Transaction Import. Online help generally describes how to use them. The way your momentum files are set up will determine which type to choose. If each Momentum record has fields for multiple accounts you would need to use Transaction import. On the other hand, if each record holds fields for a single account, you'll want to use an Allocation Import. What I've found is that I sometimes need to "Clean Up" transaction files before importing into Quantech. For instance, the allocation import feature requires the Quantech account number to be in the record, but I'm guessing your momentum files don't have the Quantech account number in them. MS Excel or MS Access are good tools to clean up the records. Let me know if you have any more specific import questions, as I've done (way too) many TIR's.
