Guest Darla K Posted April 15, 2003 Posted April 15, 2003 I have a client who has been out on short term disability. When he returns can he change his annual election? or Does he just have to make up deductions from while he was gone for the annual amount he had originally elected at the enrollment? He is wondering if he can increase his amount.
Guest ybahti Posted May 2, 2003 Posted May 2, 2003 My understanding is that there is no corresponding Qualified Life Event to warrant an increase. Marriage or birth would allow an increase.
Guest ybahti Posted May 2, 2003 Posted May 2, 2003 I found the memo but it appears to focus on the aspect of "succeeding Carriers" and only initial enrollment in disability http://www.cms.hhs.gov/hipaa/hipaa1/conten...ent/Hip00-4.pdf
