Guest rthiedke76 Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 We have several "married couples" working at our company. As long as each are eligible to participate in the plan, can they both elect to make a deferral and consequently run claims through the plan?
Guest llerner Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 Yes, unless you want them as a dependent on the other plan because you only pay EE benefits and not dependents. You can do it either way depending upon your own company policy.
david rigby Posted January 7, 2004 Posted January 7, 2004 They are separate employees. Do you want to tell one of them that he/she is an appendage of his/her spouse? I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
