Guest moosegirl Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 Is an Accountant's Opinion required for a funded welfare benefit plan with fewer than 100 participants?
Guest b2kates Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Same rules apply as for pension plans. Does the Trust holding the funds hold qualified assets or is the Trustee a qualified trustee to exempt the fund from the audit requirement.
Guest anonymous coward Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 I would tend to disagree. The instructions to the Schedule I are very specific, in that they state that small welfare plans (without regard to type) are eligible for the small plan audit waiver. If there is a regulatory citation that contradicts this, I would love to know where to find it. Cheers
