Guest eptcpa Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 A new client has discovered he's very tardy in filing his 5500ez's for his m/p & p/s plans, back to 1998! I have software for every year except 2000. Is there a software package that can be accessed via Web that will allow me to prepare & print 2 5500ez returns without charging an arm & a leg?
david rigby Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Look here. Maybe use the "hand-print" version. http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/5500main.html I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Guest eptcpa Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Thank you, but no luck there... the forms have shaded writing, "do not use for filing." They require forms produced by software that print a 2d bar code... Any other suggestions?
Blinky the 3-eyed Fish Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Isn't it now allowed to use current forms to substitute for past forms needed? "What's in the big salad?" "Big lettuce, big carrots, tomatoes like volleyballs."
Guest eptcpa Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Blinky, could you give me an example for filing a 5500ez for tax year 2000 using current forms?? You may have solved my dilemma!
Theresa Lynn Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 You might try contacting an approved software vendor for 2000. Theh are listed on the EFAST website at http://www.efast.dol.gov/software.html#2000 Theresa Lynn
