Guest YATPA Posted January 29, 2004 Posted January 29, 2004 Just wondered if most everyone is updating to 9.0 now or waiting. In the past, we've usually held off on updating to a major release until the bugs have been worked out. 9.0 seems more like some of the interim releases we see, so wasn't sure if there was any downside to updating now. Would be interested in opinions.
Archimage Posted January 29, 2004 Posted January 29, 2004 We are in the process of updating but we haven't completed it yet. There are a lot of new features that we are anxious to use, especially aggregating plans for ADP/ACP testing. That is a long overdue feature. We do a lot of web enhancements so we have to make sure everything is carried over after we upgrade.
Guest greggi39 Posted February 2, 2004 Posted February 2, 2004 we have and the first plan i work on i have to send to jax. the general non-discrim reports aren't right. it doesn't give me the safe/unsafe harbor % based on the nhce concentration and the overall report doesn't list the hce's even though other reports show the 4 hce's as hce's. the gateway report is wrong also. the ave ben % report is wrong and it looks like they changed the format and it is harder to read.
Guest greggi39 Posted February 3, 2004 Posted February 3, 2004 the reports are ok. They now default to aggregate all plans in 9.0 --previous you had to aggregate them --the default was not to agg. plans. (you can change in plan specs, misc, gen nondiscrim tab).
Guest Tbrown Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 We loaded it last week. We did have a problem on a sole-prop where it wasn't taking into account the matching contribution when calculating his compensation. There was also an issue on a report that showed his deferral at $28,000 instead of $14,000. This report was a new report that it generates that shows the calculation of the owner's compensation. It used the right number, but displayed the incorrect one. I received a new ptrnpost.exe this morning for our problem in the first paragraph but the actual patch won't be on the web-site for several more days according to Relius support. We had another problem when entering a Forfeiture Suspense Adjustment transaction and they sent us a new dtrnentr.exe. We have had a few other minor issues (one workstation that would not install and we had to completely reformat and start over but that probably had nothing to do with Relius), but nothing to be too concerned about. Guest thepitts Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 9.0 is having major problems with rehire dates and prior terms. If you import census with a rehire date, it changes it to a term date. If you left someone in with a status of rehire, it changes them to terminated. It doesn't do it on every plan. Also having major problems with exporting plans to them.
Guest Tbrown Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 I'm not sure why you would be having those problems Pitts. We have had it loaded for a couple of weeks now and other than the few minor issues I listed above (which have been corrected) it has been fine. The enhancements have worked extremely well too. We have run several sole-prop calcs on it and it has worked as advertised. Have you discussed the re-hire date issue with them? That sounds similar to the result of a change made on an earlier release. I think what you are referring to is when you put a re-hire date in the re-hire date field on the dates screen, not in status. Tim
