Guest KarinB Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 Just wanted to see other TPAs opinion on this.... I have a participant who wants to submit a heating pad through their Flex Plan. I think it might fall under the "Dual Purpose" as long as they have a specific medical condition requiring a treatment with the pad. What is eveyone else doing regarding this?
Guest JerseyGirl Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 I would consider it a “Dual Purpose” item and request a written note from the treating physician stating a specific medical condition and medical need for the heating pad. If the participant can provide that type of documentation, I would approve it.
