Guest lschaab Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 Is the cost of a private room considered a reimbursable expense under a health FSA?
Guest JerseyGirl Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 I would say yes, especially if the documentation is presented correctly. An EOB from most insurance companies would simply list it as an uncovered hospital expense, or give it a generic name such as *hospital incidentals*, which probably also includes the cost the very expensive box of tissues in the room. If you still have doubts, I imagine any attending physician would be happy to write a note stating the private room was *medically necessary* for the recovery of the patient.
