sloble@crowleyfleck.com Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 In the process of a 1/1/05 restatement, client wants to change the plan name to make it more descriptive. Can we just start using the new name for 2005 filings without further explanation (employer name, plan number, etc still all the same) I don't see anywhere on the Form 5500 to note that the name has changed.
david rigby Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 The instructions to the 5500 say nothing about a change in plan name. Just do it. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
