Guest dsutari Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 Hello, I work for a contact lens retailer that is looking to accept payments from Credit Cards issued for Flex Account and HSAs. Currently, these cards get declined when customers try to order with them since I am assuming my business is not recognized as a health service/product provider. What I would like to know is how my business can be recognized as a health/medical product provider so we can accept payment from these cards. Do we have to register with the companies providing these accounts, or the government? How do they usually verify we are in the business of providing medical products?(contact lenses) Any help you could give me would be much appreciated. Thank you.
GBurns Posted March 16, 2005 Posted March 16, 2005 It probably would be best to contact the issuers of the cards to see what is necessary to become an authorized merchant. MBI, Benny Card and Flex Convenience Card are the major card providers that come to mind. George D. Guest joey tax Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 MBI's FlexConvenience card runs off of VISA or Mastercard merchant codes. Seems to me that you have to pick the right merchant description and have the plan admr or tpa turn on the card with respect to that class or merchants. Also, contact MBI (Medibank), in Waltham Mass.
