Guest calcu Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 We have an on-site fitness center that is generally limited to employees with health insurance. We are considering opening up the entire center to all employees, whether they have our insurance or not. If we do this, can we require the employee to demonstrate proof of insurance (because they do not have our insurance)? We currently and will continue to require all employees wishing to participate to get a release signed from his/her PCP, but I was wondering whether we can go the extra step and require proof of insurance from those employees not on our insurance? Thanks
Sheila K Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 calcu: You don't state where you are from, but I'm curious as to why you would require proof of insurance? Thanks...Sheila K Sheila K 8^)
Guest calcu Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 We were considering requesting proof of health insurance just for safety purposes (if somebody was injured at the facility). But, I don't think we are going to request such information. Thanks
JanetM Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Just have them sign a waiver. That's what we do. JanetM CPA, MBA
French Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 All of our members sign a release agreement and attend a safety orientation meeting with our fitness center personnel. This is required at least every 2 yrs or whenever there is a change in the fitness center guidelines.
