SLuskin Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I have been using ATX for years. But now they want you to pay per return. What 5500 software are you using and how do you like it? Thank you.
JanetM Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Relius by Sungaurd. License allows me to prepare as many as I want. Have been using it since 1997 and haven't even considered switching. JanetM CPA, MBA
WDIK Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Following is a list of 5500 Software I have used in the past and my biggest pet peeve(s) with each. Accudraft - Would not batch print extensions, working with multiple Schedules A. Datair - Fitting SAR on one page. DOS product - Went out of business. Relius - Rate of price increases. Typewriter - Liquid paper would curdle and/or smear. Overall - Having to reenter plan data every couple of years because we keep switching software. None of them seemed to catch all of my input errors, but I was fairly happy with Datair and Relius. ...but then again, What Do I Know?
Guest pensionadmin Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 We are very pleased with Datair and the price is quite reasonable.
imchipbrown Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Used Datair for many years; quite happy with them. Lanning is/was an invaluable resource. I've downscaled my practice (why do they call it "practice"?) and find ftwilliam more cost effective. Their software imports your latest filing into your new 5500 (scary), and allows (contrary to Daitair's warnings) to prepare and send a client a .PDF printout for last minute filing.
SLuskin Posted January 12, 2006 Author Posted January 12, 2006 Thank you all for your input. I will contact Datair and Relius.
Earl Posted January 21, 2006 Posted January 21, 2006 There was something in writing not to long ago from Relius that talked about 500 filings per year for free. I questioned it and they said that "currently they do not track the count of forms prepared". You know this is a future componant of the "rate of price increase", right WDIK? CBW
