Guest jigpsu Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Is there a statutory maximum for claims submitted after the end of the plan year. The claim was incurred and paid for by the end of the year (and no 2 1/2 grace period). The plan says 180 days but the claim was denied. Thanks.
Guest b2kates Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 The is no statutory max; but a plan may define a "cutoff" date for claims to be made. Is there a statutory maximum for claims submitted after the end of the plan year. The claim was incurred and paid for by the end of the year (and no 2 1/2 grace period). oriecat Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Did the claim specify that it was because it was untimely, or did it give another reason for the denial? If it did say that, have you appealed it and sent a copy of the documentation you have that says 180 days?
