Tom Poje Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 ok, so you folks have solved a couple, though I do like Santo Gold's answers. I'm still waiting for WDIK to yell at me for posting a puzzle a few days before the weekend!
WDIK Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I do not recall ever yelling (typing in all caps) at you. However, please consider my irritation expressed. ...but then again, What Do I Know?
Lame Duck Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 A few guesses #7 Animal House #13 Roger Rabbit #25 The Blues Brothers #33 The Graduate
pmacduff Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 I believe #18 is a horror movie like maybe "Halloween"?
Guest DFerrare Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 #1Men in Black #6 Alien #14 American Graffitti #15 Superman #21 Cool Hand Luke #24 Ghostbusters #29 Natural Born Killers
Tom Poje Posted June 8, 2006 Author Posted June 8, 2006 answers all correct so far, except #29, though the one guy in the office here also had Natural Born Killers, so I looked up that movie and found the following taglines for it: The Media Made Them Superstars. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the media circus of life, they were the main attraction. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A bold new film that takes a look at a country seduced by fame, obsessed by crime and consumed by the media.

david rigby Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I think this is a plot by Tom to distract us, so we won't pay attention to our clients, and he can steal them. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Tom Poje Posted June 9, 2006 Author Posted June 9, 2006 so far so good, though #16 offered 2 choices. one of those is correct. Lame Duck: my guess is "Sitting through one of my ASPPA presentations" certainly they are 'trapped in time' for the duration of the presentation because they would feel bad if they got up and walked out. and the energy level is certainly like running 'low on gas.'
Lame Duck Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 #16 War of the Worlds That was a pretty good guess on my question, Tom, but it's not exactly what I was looking for. Keep trying.
Tom Poje Posted June 9, 2006 Author Posted June 9, 2006 you went the wrong way on #16. just for the record. but I guess that means the puzzle is solved. as long as you had fun, dang, I didn't get a chance to take over some plans while pax worked out the puzzle. hmmmm. I will have to work on formatting another puzzle. there is one based on television theme songs that I found.
RCK Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I am horrified by this thread (and glad that I won't have internet access after noon today). But I can add that I'm sure that DFerrare is incorrect on #1 Protecting the earth from the scum of the Universe. That was for ERISA-the Movie.
WDIK Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 And now one for TomTrapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. Army of Darkness ...but then again, What Do I Know?
