speaking of eating during the game, back in 1967 the Tigers had a player named Gates Brown. he was eating hot dogs during the game, which was against the manager's rules. this would include a fine if you got caught. He got called on to pinch hit, and in order to avoid getting caught stuffed the food in his pants. got a hit off the wall, slid into second with a double, stood up to brush himself off and there was mustard stains all over his uniform.
