katieinny Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I know that a controlled group of businesses must comply with coverage and participation rules for retirement plans. Is there a similar rule for health and welfare plans?
QDROphile Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 There are coverage and discrimination rules; some are similar and some are not. They vary by benefit.
BeckyMiller Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 See IRC Section 414(t) for one list of welfare benefit plans that are subject to aggregation under the controlled group rules. Then go to each code section to see what nondiscrimination rules apply. Tedious, isn't it?
