Guest flamingo Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 Does anyone know how to export vested percentages to an excel file in a format acceptable to Nationwide Insurance? The DER approach will not work because it needs to be in rows by person and source.
Tom Poje Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 possible export yrs svc for vesting in the DER and then set up a column in excel to convert those years to vesting % depending on the source.
Fredman Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I'm not familiar with Nationwide, but I think I understand the problem. You need one row for each SSN and source combination, but your DER creates one row for each SSN. If you are familiar with pivot tables in Excel it is possible to create a "reverse" one. Use your DER to get the data in Excel, then follow the instructions found here, http://j-walk.com/ss/excel/usertips/tip068.htm.
pmacduff Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 I don't know how big your plan is, but I have a Nationwide plan with 250 plus participants and 4 sources and what I do is a DER and create a separate file for each source. (Why they need 401(k) and rollover is beyond me, but my Case Administrator said the file needs to include those!!) Anyway - then convert to Excel and combine the files by copying all into one file. (My Case Administrator had told me that Nationwide wants all sources in one file and running one right after another.) This works perfectly for me. Also - I'm not super proficient in Excel and I can do this pretty quickly. Hope this helps.
