Guest Sherry Baker Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Can anyone tell me if Enrolled Actuaries are retiring from their current companies? We are looking to fill Enrolled Actuary positions, but it seems that the experienced actuaries are not making changes and will retire from their current companies. I also notice that actuaries that are new to pension are not wanting to stay in that field. We (MetLife) have a couple of positions open to be located in either Chicago, Boston or Atlanta. I am wondering if anyone can share any more on these concerns? All thoughts would be appreciated.
Blinky the 3-eyed Fish Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I have one thought. Why did you post this question under the computers sub-header? "What's in the big salad?" "Big lettuce, big carrots, tomatoes like volleyballs."
david rigby Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 The Society of Actuaries and BenefitsLink have pages for posting job opportunities. http://www.soa.org/careers/landing.aspx http://employeebenefitsjobs.com/jobs/by_date.stm There may be others. I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
Ron Snyder Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Benefits Link (our host) also provides a pretty good job board that includes actuaries: Benefits Link Jobs
Guest Sieve Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Blinky, you're a tough crowd!! Isn't it obvious that an actuarial job opening should be listed under "computers" just like a CPA opening should be under "caluculator" & a lawyer's under "yellow legal pads"? I wonder if Dave Baker is getting any ideas...??
