Guest Benefit Specialist Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 My question is I have a family on COBRA coverage because the father terminated his employment. There is a college dependent on this family's plan and he will graduate. Do I need to send him COBRA again for an extension and make him get his own COBRA policy or can he remain on the family plan with his father? Thank you for your input.
oriecat Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 If he is over the normal dependent age and then will no longer qualify as a full time student, then yes, he would need to sent a new COBRA notice for loss of eligible dependent status and he would get the extension.
