emmetttrudy Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 For the statutory change in method required by PPA - are you checking Yes on this question? If so, does anyone know of a sample attachment I could look at? Seems silly to have to check Yes on this and submit an attachment when they know everyone had to change the funding method!

No. This is from the 2008 instructions: "Any changes in a plan’s funding methods that are made for the first plan year for which Code section 430 applies to the plan and that are not inconsistent with the requirements of Code section 430 do not need IRS approval."
WDIK Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I'm not convinced that the statement in the instructions quoted by quinnfield means that you mark line 25 "No". That only indicates that the change in funding method does not need IRS approval. It is still a change in funding method. http://benefitslink.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=41455 ...but then again, What Do I Know?
Blinky the 3-eyed Fish Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I agree that technically the way the question reads leads one to mark "yes". However, I believe this is a ridiculous result. After all what good does it do to mark the question "yes" for a REQUIRED change? I am marking the question "no" when the only change is what's required, but that's my personal choice. "What's in the big salad?" "Big lettuce, big carrots, tomatoes like volleyballs."
