david rigby Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Groan! (You might have to explain this to all the readers who did not take physics or chemistry.) I'm a retirement actuary. Nothing about my comments is intended or should be construed as investment, tax, legal or accounting advice. Occasionally, but not all the time, it might be reasonable to interpret my comments as actuarial or consulting advice.
GMK Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 Yes, groan is the correct answer. Thanks for not responding "Incorrect" For basic information, visit: http://www.moleday.org/ or google 'mole day' for a plethora of information.
masteff Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Brings back memory of a high school Chem II project that resulted in approximation of Avagadro's Number. I remember just enough of it to know I'm not recalling a critical step to from a couple of measurements to a number. I know we were within only several levels of magnitude, which given the crude measurements was pretty good. XTitan Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Someone did send me 6.02 x 10^23 tubs of guacaMOLE. I figured it was Avocado's number. - There are two types of people in the world: those who can extrapolate from incomplete data sets...
RCK Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 Arggh! I missed Happy Mole Day and Talk Like A Pirate Day?
Andy the Actuary Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 They opened up a new pizza joint named PI in goatpeterville where I reside. It's logo on the door is the pi symbol. The server described the "pie" of the day. She reacted with a blank stare when I asked, "how many decimals in the pie of the day?" (arggh?) You should obtain appropriate tax, legal, or other professional advice.
GMK Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 If it's not an eat-in only place, they could carry out to as many places (decimal or otherwise) as they like. Are they open 22/7? (another groan.)
RCK Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Is there a post of the year contest? I think that GMK's post is brilliant. And to the best of my knowledge, I am not related to GMK
GMK Posted November 19, 2009 Author Posted November 19, 2009 Thanks for the kind words, but I doubt that the Humor forum qualifies for post of the year. It's fun, but it's not really what we're here after. By the way, Gramma K is also pretty sure that you are from a different branch of the K family tree.
GMK Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Just a reminder for tomorrow (Saturday). Q: Why was there only one Avogadro? A: When they made him, they broke the Moled. Q: Avogadro loved to watch MASH. Which character did he like most? A: Father Molecahy. (more groans!)
