Guest dsw713 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Should an insurance paying override commissions to a broker or agency, be reporting these amounts on the Schedule A attachment to the Form 5500? Thanks.
Guest taylorjeff Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I've worked for a carrier and as a benefits broker. My experience has been that overrides and bonus payments are not included. I think the general reasoning was these payments are not considered part of the client's specific retention formula, but are paid out of a seperate pool of funds. Should an insurance paying override commissions to a broker or agency, be reporting these amounts on the Schedule A attachment to the Form 5500? Thanks.
