Guest Tom: Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Can I report 403(b) elective deferrals and 401(a) matching contributions on the same 5500? Does it matter whether I treat them as the same plan?
Laura Harrington Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Can I report 403(b) elective deferrals and 401(a) matching contributions on the same 5500? Does it matter whether I treat them as the same plan? The answer to this question depends on whether or not they actually are the same plan. You file one Form 5500 per plan. So if the 403(b) deferrals and the match are in one plan...one 5500. If they are two separate plans...two 5500s. Laura
Guest Tom: Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 The DOL infomally concluded there was nothing prohibiting a 401(a) and 403(b) from being submitted on one 5500.
