CJS07 Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Are PTIN's required to file the 2010 Form 5330? I don't see it on the IRS' list as an exception to the new PTIN rule. What are TPA firms doing if a PTIN is required on the Form 5330 and nobody in the firm has a PTIN? Are you advising clients to have their CPA's complete and file the 5330?
Tom Poje Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 yes. since the 5330 relates to taxes you must have a PTIN to file (unlike the 5500 which is an information form) If I remember correctly an actuary could also file, but my memory might be thinking of something else in regards to that.
