Monica Barnard Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Is a HRA similar to a FSA? Where do I get a document? I am assuming that a Form 5500 has to be filed. Is that correct?

It's all employer money. You can get the document from a competent plan services provider. No 5500 if not set up with a trust and less than 100 participants.
Guest morris Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 HRAs are always 100% employer funded. They can also allow rollover and spenddown. There is no connection to a 125 plan. Although FSAs can be employer funded, they are usually funded by ee contributions, or a mixture of the two. Money not spent by the end of the plan year is lost ("Use it or lose it") and FSAs are usually found under a 125 plan.
