Guest twoodman Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Has anyone else been notified by their clients about receiving a letter from the IRS stating the 2011 Form 5500 is not signed? We received two so far and both submitted in May 2012 electronically through EFAST2. I don't understand why we are getting these letters and I wanted to see if anyone else was getting them.
Kevin C Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 We have a client that received the same letter. The first try on the electronic filing had errors and it was re-submitted. The second try was accepted and shows up on the DOL website and our gvt forms software as properly signed. We decided the IRS letter was in response to the first attempt at filing and sent them a letter explaining the situation. We'll see what happens.
