I am fairly new at my current job. They use FT William for 5500s. I have never used FT Williams before. We use the internet version. (Maybe that is the only version.) When the 5500 is all done and ready to be signed we send an invitation to the client to e-sign the 5500. When they do that it transmits to EFAST2.

Here is the thing I find odd and I am being told by people here this can't be fixed and I wanted to double check to see if this is true. I get no notice if the form has been signed. To me if I were building this system I would have the system send out an e-mail to people who sent the invitation saying "client just signed". On October 15th I had to keep going out ever few hours to see which clients had signed and which one hadn't.

Is there really no way to set the system up to get an e-mail saying client just signed? If nothing else I would like to know so I can double check it was accepted by the DOL or look to see if there are any issues.

Like I said adding a feature like that seems so obvious to have I am hard pressed to believe it doesn't exist.

I don't use ftw software these days, but I've been told to follow these steps:

Go to Portal Setting, Email Settings and turn on the Confirmation Emails. The confirmation email would go to the Master Admin user if there are no users assigned to the “Review/Assign/Detail Status” grid.

If could be that the Master Admin User is already getting emails and not letting you know.

Don't know how it works in FT Williams exactly, but there are two ways around this in ASC that you may be able to similarly use.

Option 1 - Enter your email address instead of your clients. Once you submit the form, you will get the email asking your to electronically sign the form. Either forward that email to your client, or write up a better email with directions for your client incl;uding the secure link. When the client electronically signs, you will get the confirmation and can pass that on to your client as well and thanking them for another successful/painful year.

Option 2 - If there's room for more than one email address (seperated by commas for example), enter your email address as well. This way, when its signed you will also get the email confirmation. (not sure if that's available on FT).

ESOP Guy:

We use FT William exlcusively for our 5500 package. Once you get familiar with the system you are going to love it. At least I do.

You do receive confirmation regarding the filing. They system will inform you that the filing has been accepted by EFAST. On the main page of the 5500 for the specific client, you will find a line called "Acceptance Status". That line will tell you the status of the filing. You can also click on the "Details" button. You will be given the details of the filing along with a confirmation of said filing.

This is correct. The Portal Settings is under the Admin Menu at the top, next to Logout. Confirmation emails is third from the top.

As maverick says, if the Admin name (drop-down box) in the status grid is blank, the Master Admin will get the confirmation emails. If you are selected under Admin, you will get the confirmation emails... all this after you set confirmation emails to Yes.

I get the confirmation emails without fail. In fact, while on the phone with some clients, they tell me when they click the Submit button, and I get the confirmation emails within a few seconds. It has worked really well.

I agree with the other users. I always get 2 email notices from ftwilliam. One email says that it was submitted and the other that it was accepted. If you ever have any questions about their system, contact them. They are very quick in their responses.
