note how the '5500-SUP' has been added for 2015 (question 13 - 16)

so looks like this is a done deal when next year

13 Has plan been timely amended... (Q 6 on the 5500-SUP)

14 Have required min distributions been made for 5% owners

15 was there unrelated business tax income (Q10 on the 5500-sup)

16 were in service distributions made (Q-11 on the 5500 SUP)

14 wasn't on the original 5500-sup, so maybe that is getting added

since it is an EZ I guess there was no reason to ask a number of the other questions on the 5500-sup - e.g. coverage, ADP testing, etc)

My question is a follow on, "has the Form 5500 Series changes been approved for the 2015 Form?"

I am noticing that Janice Wegesin is providing a webinar on the 2015 Form 5500 Series on Wednesday, 9/23/15.

So, either:

a). she knows that the 2015 Form 5500 Series is finalized, or

b). she will be saying "maybe" a lot in her webinar on 9/23/15 with regard to the 2015 Form 5500 Series?

Any other thoughts or observations?

If the 2015 Form 5500 Series changes have been finalized, there is a fair amount of operational work to be done to systematically collect the new information.

only the draft form for the EZ has been released at this time.
the IRS web site for such forms is:

http://apps.irs.gov/app/picklist/list/draftTaxForms.html
of course, since even that form is a draft, it could always be pulled.
so I would guess she would be using 'maybe'. but if they had released the EZ form without the additional questions that would be cause to expect either a delay or cancellation of the '5500-SUP' info.

already planning ahead - at the moment (using Relius), every time we restate a document I enter items such as date amendment signed, trustee, etc into fields that print on a custom plan spec report. Come next year I should have all the pertinent info ready to go.
