Susan S. Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Does the DFVCP penalty calculator not take extensions into account? For example, it is calculating 79 days late for a plan year end 12/31/15 filed on 10/18/16. If an extension was filed, it is actually only 1 day late. Should the extension filing date be entered in place of the plan year end?
Belgarath Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 If you are filing under DFVCP, you lose the benefit of the extension.See question #4 on attached link.https://www.dol.gov/sites/default/files/ebsa/about-ebsa/our-activities/resource-center/faqs/faq-dfvc.pdf RatherBeGolfing and Lou S. 2
Susan S. Posted October 18, 2016 Author Posted October 18, 2016 Thanks, I had looked at the FAQ's but missed that part. Doesn't seem fair at all, but I'm not surprised.
