Tom Poje Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 just in case there are some newbies out there who missed this awful joke. I made the rest of the bunch suffer through it, so you might as well. Besides, it has been a number of years since I posted this. .............................................................................................. The original Titanic -- the largest ship of its type at the time -- sank 100 years ago when it struck an iceberg on the night of April 15, 1912, on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York. More than 1,500 people perished in the disaster, which captured the popular imagination. The ship had been vaunted as "unsinkable." Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico. This was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th, the day the shipment was to arrive in Vera Cruz, and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo. Calavera and Bill Presson 2

CuseFan Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 I don't know which is worse - this joke or the movie - did anyone else cheer when Leonardo Dicaprio died? Kenneth M. Prell, CEBS, ERPA Vice President, BPAS Actuarial & Pension Services kprell@bpas.com
Belgarath Posted April 27, 2018 Posted April 27, 2018 Never saw the movie, but if it is as bad as the joke, I made a good choice!!
Madison71 Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Hilarious. I had to sit through this movie twice - twice at the movie theater for reasons I will not disclose. I fell asleep both times
RatherBeGolfing Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 I think sitting through that movie was karma for going to see all those Pauly Shore movies....
